Legal Assistant
A Quebec City lawyer, Jacques focuses his practice on civil litigation, real estate and commercial law. More specifically, he represents individuals and businesses in civil liability proceedings.
Jacques is one of the founders of Joli-Coeur Lacasse in Quebec City in 1983. He was Vice-President of the office for several years.
During his career, he focused his practice primarily on construction law. He has therefore represented several construction contractors at the Court of Quebec, the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal.
In addition, he represents a joint committee charged with the application of a decree made under the Act Respecting Collective Agreement Decrees. Jacques is particularly proud of winning a major case in May 2019 before the Supreme Court of Canada. The case involved the notion of employee under the Act Respecting Collective Agreement Decrees.
Jacques takes interest in his clients very seriously. He makes sure to inform them of their rights and their odds of success or not before training them in procedures. It goes without saying that he does not hesitate to recommend to them to accept offers of settlement when it is in their interest.
